Things have been a little rough. See that massive belly? I have what’s called ascites – fluid buildup in my abdomen that’s being secreted by the cancer. I’m waiting on a call from Asante to get in for an ultrasound and to get it drained hopefully tomorrow I’m pretty limited on what I can do right now because of the pain, and I’m on some pretty hard-core stuff to manage it but I try not to take too much during the day so I’m not a zombie.

I am also restarting chemo …! However, this is way different than the stuff I was on before. I am only doing immunotherapy with two drugs, and the side effects should be fairly minimal, especially when compared to the crap I was on before. I had my first infusion today and slept through the whole thing and I feel pretty decent. The second drug will be pills that I take every day and I am waiting for those to be delivered to my home. This new drug has a potential for creating some heart problems so I’m scheduled for an echo to look at my heart on Friday to get a baseline. I’m also having issues with my port catheter in my chest, so I’m scheduled for a procedure on Monday to get it checked out.

Kind of feeling like I should just set up a cot at Asante and move in
I am very much looking forward to getting this fluid drained so I can get back to hiking and doing the things that I love thank you everyone so much for your continued prayers, support and donations. I would be completely lost without you!
And of course, thank you to my personal chauffeur for driving me everywhere and keeping me company! Dad doesn’t do Facebook anymore so I can’t tag him. And a big shout out to Dawni for the snacks and lunch! I love you both very much
